| Canon Imagerunner 8500 copier
The imageRUNNER 8500 is ideally suited for volume-intensive departments, corporate in-plants, and print-for-pay outlets. Like its Canon predecessors, the imageRUNNER 8500 carries on Canon's networking tradition. Customers can select both copying and printing capabilities at the time of their initial purchase, or they can add network printing capabilities later on. With the standard Canon controller, or the optional imagePASS-M1 Print Controller, capable of handling 10/100 Ethernet or Token Ring connections, and PostScript® 3 and PCL® 6 print languages, the imageRUNNER 8500 can meet the needs of the most demanding production environments.
Delivering both copies and prints at a quick 85 impressions per minute, and scanning at 80 pages per minute, the imageRUNNER 8500 is a powerhouse of productivity. The imageRUNNER 8500 does not even slow down when performing advanced functions such as duplexing, stapling, and hole-punching. In addition to its fast operating speed, the device is up and ready to go within minutes. With a warm-up speed of six minutes or less, and an incredible first copy speed of 2.9 seconds from the platen and 4.3 seconds from the document feeder, you won't waste time waiting for your jobs to begin. A long-lasting, 5-million impression Amorphous Silicon Drum also saves users time and money through less frequent replacement. And while most high-volume units carry a footprint to match, the imageRUNNER 8500 is surprisingly compact, a significant advantage where space is at a premium. A standard 100-sheet Automatic Document Feeder accepts originals in sizes up to 11"x 17"and in weights up to 110 lb. Index. Mixed originals with the same size leading edge are also handled with ease. An extra large 7,650-sheet paper supply from six sources, minimizes paper re-loading and maximizes flexibility in paper choice for output. Two 550-sheet front-loading user-adjustable cassettes, two 1,500-sheet letter-size trays, and a 50-sheet stack bypass come standard. An optional 3,500-sheet letter-size Paper Deck-M1 can also be added. All paper sources handle paper from 17 lb. Bond to 110 lb. Index. On the output side, the imageRUNNER 8500 offers a choice of three finishers with the ability to perform multi-position and saddle-stitch stapling, hole punching, Z-folding, and post-process document insertion. The imageRUNNER 8500's 10GB Internal Image Server hosts a number of unique features which set new standards for production-level output. These innovative capabilities include Scan-Once-Print-Many, Confidential Mail Boxes, Automatic Page Impositioning, Copy Reservation, and Job Build. The imageRUNNER 8500 also supports Chapterization, Cover and Inserts, and Tab Copying and Insertion. All machine functions can be easily accessed through Canon's intuitive printer driver interface and/or the imageRUNNER 8500's large 7.8"color LCD panel. The imageRUNNER 8500's robust design and advanced feature set, combined with the advantages of digital technology make it ideal for the most demanding high volume environments.
